Heart Healthy Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie

Heart-Healthy Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie

February is heart health month. So why not keep your heart heatlhy with two of my favorite things: chocolate & strawberries. I thought I’d try a twist on the traditional by amping up the health quotient of this tried and true combination. Did you know that strawberries are actually a fantastic heart-healthy food? Makes sense as they actually look like little hearts, right? It’s due to the high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of the strawberry. They also have a very low glycemic load of only 1, so a very small impact on blood sugar.
